The Reconstruction
Research Day in the library. Define and expand upon the term "Reconstruction." At the end of the hour, make sure to post summarized information about what you found, and include links in case your classmates would like more information. Don't forget to cite your sources -- MLA format!

-Before the Civil War ended - northern political leaders began to reconstruct the Union
-Black voters = Blacks were participating in government
-Progress began to emerge with black communities
-Blacks were building schools, churches, and small businesses
-With better educational opportunities, black men became interested in holding public office (right to vote)
-Politicians thought that blacks were going to take over the land and make whites the servants

•Abraham lincoln had no oppurtunity to implement reconstruciton program previously devised
•Radiacl republicans pushed for amore complete reconstruction of Southern society
